“Brush Strokes” was the product of an old college essay, footage of my grandfather from 2017, and a free Procreate brush pack I downloaded through a blog I found on Google. The film, linked above, is an exploration into Chinese calligraphy and its role in shaping the way I approach new challenges.
I reworked and revised parts of my old essay into a new script, animated a few short scenes, and added an original score to the project.
This film was an Official Selection at the DisOrient Asian American Film Festival in 2022.
